Margamosa and the Classic Champagne Cocktail

Also known as Things to Drink While Making Champagne Cake.

I hate it when I find myself with a really great idea and I’m suuuuure I’ve invented something incredible.  This feeling lasts only a second or two, or until I find myself in Google’s proximity.  And then it crushes my soul a little bit.  No, I am not the first person to think that combining a margarita with a mimosa would yield pure bliss.

I was in the mood for experimenting.  Google, after crushing my ego, directed me to some other fun champagne drinks.  Such as the classic champagne cocktail:

Bitters and sugar at the bottom of your glass.

Top with champagne.  Classy.  No one would ever know you are drinking the cheapest you could find.

Margarita Mimosa

1/2 shot of tequila

1/4 shot of triple sec

1/4 shot of lime juice

Champagne

Pour tequila, triple sec and lime juice into flute.  Top with champagne and garnish with a lime wedge like the sophisticated beast you are.

Classic Champagne Cocktail

1 cube (or teaspoon) of sugar

2-3 dashes of bitters

Champagne

Put sugar in your flute, add bitters.  After the bitters permeates the sugar, top with champagne.  Enjoy…  But not so much that you forget about your cake.
